Greetings All!  Again, it was so great to see all the avid hikers last Tuesday. With the beginning head count of 20, finishing with only a drop-off of 10%, that was very acceptable.  This also shortened the MIA paperwork required at days-end.

Next week we set our sights on Victoria Bryant Park without Mike’s skilled guidance.

This lovely trail area does come with some challenges that I wanted to go over with you ahead of time.  The trail does go alongside a golf course so protective helmets are encouraged. However, there is a good chance for lightning so please take that into consideration when choosing the helmet material.

Bryant State Park is located south of Lavonia deep into red-neck country.  It is advisable to travel in a convoy from Toccoa for safety concerns. It is probably advisable to have Garmin on board in case you get lost and paper maps are always good to have.  Be sure to avoid stopping for directions and remember to “Never Make Eye Contact.”

Bring along your Georgia park pass or be prepared to pay $5 per car for the entrance fee.

Despite golf balls, hail, rushing water crossings and lightning. . .  with proper preparation, we should have a grand time.

See ya, R. Corbett
