Name: Bartram Trail - Bob's Gap to Warwoman Dell
Distance: 6.6
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Total Climbing Elevation: 1,457
Type: One-Way
Notes: Today's shuttle hike was easy to moderately difficult on a well- maintained trail that was surprisingly easy on the feet with few rocks and roots. While not a lot of views with the summer growth, this canopy and partly cloudy conditions took the edge off the otherwise humid summer conditions. However, the view from Big Rock overlooking Camp Rainey Boy Scout Camp and surrounding valley was quite good and worth the extra effort to carefully climb down to the rock ledge. An exception to this peaceful hike was the accidental disturbance of a yellow jacket's nest on the latter section of the trail, right Ken Pardue? Just a couple of wildflowers on the Big Rock overlook and an occasional fungus. Still, this was a "great day for a hike." Today's Hikers: Rex Wade, Ken Kellerman & Cutie Pie, Matt Henderson, Jenny Bell, Claudia Pardue, Ken Pardue, Gerald Richardson, Edwin Pruitt, Mike Bell & Jim Driggers.
