Name: Ravens Cliff with Homer & Long Creek Falls, SC
Distance: 4.6
Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
Total Climbing Elevation: 1,004
Type: Out & Back
Notes: This was the best hiking weather day in quite a while with cool 60's temperatures, sunny skies, lower humidity and an occasional breeze. The main trails leading to Ravens Rock, Homer Falls and Long Creek Falls are quite good with just a few passable deadfalls. However, the final paths down to and out of the cliff and falls in all cases take quite a bit of care since the trails are very steep and can be slippery. There are some rocks, roots, and trees to hold onto during these descents and climbs. We saw just a few late blooming wildflowers. This hike continues to be "moderately to strenuously difficult and not worth taking if you are not comfortable climbing down to the features which cannot be seen otherwise." However, the hike features are quite beautiful if you are willing to take on the challenge.
