12/09/2025 – Brasstown Falls Trail

Date: 12/09/2025

Name: Brasstown Falls Trail

Distance: 1.2

Difficulty: Easy

Total Climbing Elevation: 128

Type: Out & Back

Notes: We followed up our hike this morning to nearby Riley Moore Falls with this mostly easy hike to visit the three falls collectively known as Brasstown Falls. The National Forest Service states the total drop of the falls is 120 feet. While not quite as cold as the earlier hike, the temperatures were still chilly ranging from 41F to 43°F during our hike with partly cloudy skies. Access is easy and there is plenty of parking at the trailhead. The entire trail is well maintained and an easy walk except for the last short, but steep decent to the base of the lower Brasstown Falls. The FS completed extensive reworking of the trail a few years back to include new bridges, viewing platforms, steps and a ladder making this hike much safer and enjoyable. All of the falls are truly beautiful, even with a modest water flow. Today's Hikers: Phil Steele, Lynn Steele, Debbie Nuessly, Gregg Nuessly, Matt Henderson, Gerald Richardson, Ken Pardue, Allyson Aldrich, Angela Evans, Jenny Bell & Mike Bell.
