HIKERS – John Bellamy, Wayne Miller, Bob Presley, Dan Ross, Doug Russell, Gerald Shedd, Bob Thompson, and David Whitaker.
TRAIL INFO. – Our hike today was on the Foothills Trail starting at Duke Power’s Bad Creek Project parking lot. We hiked over to Lower Whitewater Falls and back and then drove a short distance up to the parking lot of Upper Whitewater Falls and walked up to the Upper Falls observation area and down the steps to the viewing platform. These two waterfalls are two of the most beautiful in the Eastern U.S. Directions: Take Hwy. 11 north of Walhalla, SC past Salem, SC to the intersection of Hwy. 130, turn left and drive about 10 miles to the Bad Creek Project gate (on the right). Drive down the Duke Power road a mile or so and you will see the parking lot and sign for the Foothills Trail access. Another beautiful hiking day! Cloudy with temperatures ranging from the low 40’s to low 50’s. Total hike today – almost 6 miles. |
