TRAIL INFO. – Our hike today was on the Panther Creek Trail near Tallulah Falls, GA. We hiked from Hwy. 441 (Panther Creek Park) to Panther Creek Falls and back. Directions: Panther Creek Park is located approx. 3 miles south of Tallulah Falls, GA on Old Hwy. 441. There are signs on the main highway 441. Another beautiful hiking day! Cloudy skies with temps. ranging from the upper 60’s to the low 70’s F. Total hike approx. 7 miles miles. We rated the trail difficulty – moderate with occasional rocky footing where caution must be taken. FLORA IN BLOOM: Swamp Azalea, Indian Cucumber Root, Alternate-Leafed Dogwood, Yellow Root, Carolina Rhododendron, Mountain Hydrangea, among others. FAUNA: Red Spotted Salamander; Birds: Black-Throated Blue Warbler, Red-Eyed Vireo, Pileated Woodpecker, Oven Bird, Cardinal, White-breasted Nuthatch. |

Here, we meet a group of 4-H’ers from Hart County, GA. The trail passes under a large rock out-cropping. |
We cross a nice foot-bridge across the creek. |
There are some beautiful views of Panther Creek all along the trail. |
We share the trail with this nice Red-spotted Salamander. |
