TRAIL INFO. – Our hike today was on several short trails. Dry Falls is a spectacular waterfall a short drive west of Highlands on Hwy. 64. Highlands Botanical Garden is located on East Main Street, approximately 1/4 mile from the center of town. Sunset Rocks are near the Botanical Gardens and the trail is an easy walk. These were short hikes but they offered a very nice reprieve from the summer heat. Another beautiful hiking day! Fair to Partly Cloudy skies with temps. ranging from the upper 60’s to the upper 70’s F. FLORA IN BLOOM: Heal All, Bergamot, Spikenard, Tall Bellflower, Rosebay Rhododendron, Teaberry, Coreopsis, Tall Bluets, Blue-eyed Grass, Hawk Weed, White Yarrow, Yellow Sorrell, Black-eyed Susan, Oxeye Daisy. FAUNA: Jordan Salamander BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Junco, Solitary Vireo, Towhee, Red-eyed Vireo, American Crow, Robin, Veery, Summer Tanager, Carolina Chickadee |

Nearby Ravenell Park has a nice trail that leads up to Sunset Rocks. |
