TRAIL INFO. – Our hike today was on the Bartram Trail and Pinnacle Mtn. Trails. We parked at the Warwoman Dell Park east of Clayton, GA off of state Hwy. 884 (Warwoman Road). We hiked north about 3.5 miles to the Pinnacle Mtn. Trail and hiked to the summit of Pinnacle Mountain for lunch. Total hike today 8+ miles. Another beautiful hiking day! Fair skies with a nice breeze with temps. in the low to mid 80’s F. FLOWERS IN BLOOM: Joe Pye Weed, Bush Honeysuckle, Tall Bluet, Goldenrod, Flowering Spurge, St. Andrew’s Cross, Heal All , Cranefly Orchid, Rattlesnake Plantain, Yellow Fringed Orchid, Beggar’s Lice, Mountain Mint, Black-Eyed Susan, Phlox, Wild Hydrangea, White Horse Mint, Devil’s Walking Stick, Harebells, Coreopsis. FAUNA: Crayfish, Red Spotted Salamander, Frog, Broad-winged Hawk, Pileated Woodpecker, Carolina Wren, Red-eyed Vireo, White-breasted Nuthatch, Blue Jay. |
