Chattooga River/Bartram Trail – Hwy. 28 Bridge – Lick Log Creek, SC.

TRAIL INFO. – Today’s hike was on the Chattooga River and Bartram Trail starting at Highway 28 Bridge (SC side) parking lot and hiking northward beyond Lick Log Creek Falls

Nice hike with nice river views and waterfalls along with a great selection of wildflowers.

Total round trip hiking distance – 8.1 mi.

Directions: Take Hwy. 28 between Highlands, NC and Walhalla, SC and drive to the Hwy. 28 Bridge (Russell Bridge) and park in the parking lot on the SC side of the bridge.

Another great day for a hike! Fair, mild with temperatures ranging from the low 50’s to mid 70’s.

Wildflowers in bloom: Bloodroot, Halberd Leaved Violet, Round Leaved Yellow Violet, Red Toadshade Trillium, Wood Anemone, Hepatica & Yellow Root.

Birds: Canada Geese, Cardinal, Tohee, Phoebe, Carolina Wren, Crow, Piliated Woodpecker, & Red-eyed Vireo.
