TRAIL INFO. – Today’s hike was on the Bartram Trail starting at Warwoman Dell and hiking northward on the trail to the intersection with the Pinnacle Mtn. Trail and taking this trail up to Pinnacle Knob.

Beautiful hike with nice waterfalls and streams along with a great selection of wildflowers and fantastic mountain top views from Pinnacle Knob.

Total round trip hiking distance – 8.1 mi.

Difficulty rating : Moderately strenuous with elevation gain of 1,300+ ft. on the way out.

Directions: Take Highway 884 East from Clayton, GA (Warwoman Road) and drive to Warwoman Dell Park. Park here and take the Bartram Trail northward.

Another great day for a hike! Fair, mild with temperatures ranging from the low 50’s to the upper 70’s.

WILDFLOWERS IN BLOOM: Rue Anemone, Yellow Root, Birdfoot Violet, Round-leafed Yellow Violet, Halberd-leafed Violet, Purple Violet, Trailing Arbutus, Robin’s Plaintain, Star Chickweed, Huckleberry, Bloodroot, and Cinquefoil.

BIRDS IDENTIFIED: American Crow, Turkey Vulture, Blue Jay, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Pileated Woodpecker, Red-eyed Vireo, Black and White Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Tufted Titmouse.
