TRAIL INFO. – Today’s hike was on the Foothills Trail in South Carolina . Starting at the trail crossing on Fish Hatchery Road north of Walhalla, SC, we hiked down to the Chattooga River and took the short side trail up to Kings Creek Falls. Total round trip hiking distance – 10 miles Trail difficulty rating: Moderate with moderate elevation change. Directions: From Walhalla, drive north on SC 28 for 7.5 miles and veer right onto SC 107. Drive 12 miles and turn left onto Fish Hatchery Road (Oconee County S-37-325). Look for the trail crossing sign shortly after turning onto Fish Hatchery Road. Another great day for a hike! Partly cloudy and humid with temperatures ranging from the low to the upper 70’s. FLOWERS IN BLOOM: Black-eyed Susan, Whorled Coreopsis, Jack-in-the-pulpit, Tall Bluets, Pippsissawa, Wild Ginger, Large-flowered Rhododendrun, Catawba Rhododendrun, Tea Berry, Whorled Loosestrife, Daisy Fleabane, Mountain Hydrangea.
