TRAIL INFO. – Today’s hike was on the Bartram Trail east of Clayton, GA beginning at Warwoman Dell and hiking southward past Rainey Mountain. This is a nice hike with quite a bit of elevation change.

Total hiking distance today – 8 mi. Directions: Take Highway 884 East from Clayton, GA (Warwoman Road) and drive to Warwoman Dell Park and turn right and drive about a quarter mile to the end of the road. Follow the yellow trail markers.

Another great day for a hike! Mosty sunny with temperatures ranging from the low to the upper 70’s.

FLOWERS IN BLOOM: Jewel Weed, Rattlesnake Plantain, Joe Pye Weed, Beggar Lice, Spurge, Coreopsis, White Wood Aster, Milk Weed, Sumac, Carolina Lily, Sour Wood, Galax, Rhododendron, & False Hellebore.

BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Pilieated Woodpecker, Carolina Wren, Veery, Titmouse, Red Eye Vireo, Towhee, Black Vulture, Crow, Blue Jay, White Breasted Nuthatch, Black and White Warbler, Cat Bird and Red Tailed Hawk.

A rope is available for the steep descent down to the large rock over-look.
