| Today’s hike was on the Smith Creek Trail at Unicoi State Park near Helen, GA. We started the hike at the trail head across from Little Brook Campground. This hike leads to Anna Ruby Falls where we had lunch.

TRAIL INFO. – This trail is in good shape with recent blow-downs cleared. The terrain is moderate with rocky footing in several stretches. The view is nice through this mostly hardwood forest with spectacular Anna Ruby Falls at the end. It is a nice 10 mile round trip. Directions: Just north of Helen, GA turn right onto Hwy 356 and drive past the lake and take the first left and drive a half mile or so and look for the Little Brook Campground sign. Today’s hiking distance – 10 miles Another great day for a hike! Cloudy to partly cloudy with temperatures ranging from the low 50’s to mid 60’s F. BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Crow, Carolina Wren, Pilieated Woodpecker, Blue Jay, Carolina Chickadee, Titmouse. |
