Today, we hiked at Black Rock Mountain State Park on the James Edmonds Trail.
HIKERS: Janice Arnold, Joe Arnold, Thomas Bowers, Phil Brownrigg, Greta Driggers, Jim Driggers and Carole Wintle. TRAIL INFO. – The James Edmonds Trail is a 7.2 mile loop trail that leads to Lookoff Mountain overlooking the Wolffork Valley. The terrain is hilly and includes nice mountain creeks and mountain views. Rating – Moderately strenuous to strenuous, especially the last half mile. Directions: Located on Black Rock Mountain Parkway, 3 miles north of Clayton off U.S. Hwy. 441. Look for brown directional signs in Mountain City. Another great day for a hike! Cloudy with a rain shower.Total distance hiked – 7.2 miles. FLOWERS IS BLOOM: Blue Aster, White Woods Aster, Wreath Goldenrod, and Mountain Gentian . BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Canada Geese, Crow, Grouse, Nuthatch. |
