Tallulah Gorge Trails – Tallulah Falls, GA

This week’s hike was on the Hiking Trails in Tallulah Gorge State Park, GA. Starting at the Shortline Trail that follows a portion of the old Tallulah Falls Railroad Bed and continuing to the Terrora Trail Upper Loop and Lake Loop then the South Rim Trail and the North Rim Trail. It was a great day for a hike with comfortable temperatures and nice Fall colors. Total hike today 7.5 miles.

TRAIL INFO. – Tallulah Gorge State Park is one of the finest jewells of nature in the USA! The trails are easy to strenuous depending on what you want to do. You can stay on the rim trails for easy walking with spectuclar vistas looking down into the gorge or you can take a more strenuous walk to the gorge floor on the 1,099 steps staircase which features the walk across the gorge on the suspension bridge.

Directions: Located on U.S. Hwy. 441 between Clayton and Cornelia, GA within the city limits of Tallulah Falls, Ga.

Another great day for a hike! Partly cloudy and mild with temperatures ranging from the low 50’s to mid 60’s F.

FLOWERS IN BLOOM: Blue Aster, Goldenrod and Dandelion.

BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Carolina Wren, King Fisher, Crow, Raven, Chickadee, Turkey Vulture, Bluebird.

We started our hike on the north end of the Shortline Trail along the Tallulah River.
