Today, we hiked on the Stoneplace Trail at Tallulah Gorge State Park. Including the side trail to Inspiration Point, the hike was approximately 10 miles. HIKERS: Phil Brownrigg, Greta Driggers, Jim Driggers, Jack Jacobi, Dick Metzgar, Wanda Miller, Wayne Miller, Vic Robson, Pom Sinnock and Carole Wintle. TRAIL INFO. – The Stoneplace Trail Starts at the parking lot for the Interpretive Center at Tallulah Gorge State Park. The trail is 5 miles one way as it leads to the Stoneplace boat ramp on Tugalo Lake. The trail has moderate hills along with some flat areas. On the return trip you can take the gorge rim trail to the newest over-look, Inspiration Point. Inspiration Point is the highest view point and it is breathtaking as you look deep into the gorge with views of Oceana and Bridal Veil Falls! Directions: Travel to Tallulah Falls GA on Highway 441 about 12 miles south of Clayton, GA. Turn at the traffic light onto Jane Hurt Yarn Rd. to the Interpretive Center. Another great day for a hike!
