TRAIL INFO. – The Dockery Lake Trail is a beautiful mountain trail with a picturesque lake and loop trail with a connector up to the Appalachian Trail at Miller Gap. The trail has lots of flat terrain with a moderately strennuous climb up the connector trail to the A.T. TODAY’S HIKERS: John Bellamy, June Bellamy, Phil Brownrigg, Bill Hunt, Bob Magee, Bruce O’Connor, Jeanne O’Connor, Don Preece, Donna Presley, Tony Presley, Vic Robson Lynne Saporito and Carole Wintle. Total hiking distance today – 7.8 miles with a large elevation change. Difficulty rating – moderately strenuous. DIRECTIONS: Take Hwy. 129 N from Cleveland, GA for about 15 mi. then turn left at Turner’s Corner and travel several miles to Hwy 60 (rock pile) turn right and drive toward the top of the mountain. Turn right at the sign for Dockery Lake and drive down the gravel road to the trail parking lot. Another great day for a hike! Mostly sunny and cool with temperatures ranging from the upper 40’s to the low 60’s F.
