TRAIL INFO. – In the 1990’s, the State of Georgia constructed this trail system as part of the Brasstown Valley Resort near Young Harris, GA. The main loop trail (6.5 mi) is called the Miller Trek Trail named after former Georgia Governor and Senator, Zell Miller. There are other shorter trails bringing the total hiking trails to approximately 9 miles. The Miller Trek is mountainous but laid out in a manner that gives moderate grades without extreme climbs. The trail has great mountain views in the wintertime. TODAY’S HIKERS: John Bellamy, June Bellamy, Phil Brownrigg, Pam Euliss, Bill Hunt, Greta Driggers, Jim Driggers, Bob Magee, Don Preece, Donna Presley, Tony Presley, Vic Robson, Dan Ross, Lynne Saporito, Carole Wintle and Jack Wintle. Total hiking distance today – 6.5 miles with rolling hills and elevation change of 1,372 ft. Difficulty rating – Moderate. DIRECTIONS: The trail is located at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris. Take Highway 76 and turn at the Brasstown Valley Resort sign. In 1.3 mi., turn L onto road toward golf parking. After 0.2 mi., turn L at the hiking parking lot. Another great day for a hike!
