The Bartram Trail – Rabun Co. – Highway 28 bridge Southward

Today’s hike was on the Bartram Trail in Rabun Co. GA from the Highway 28 bridge southard beyond Adeline Ford.

HIKERS: Jenny Bell, Mike Bell, John Bellamy, June Bellamy, Bob Browe, Phil Brownrigg, Astrid Colorado, Greta Driggers, Tim Hale, Bill Hunt, Jo Lusher, Bob Magee, Dick Metzgar, Terre Pratt, Tony Presley and Vic Robson.

TRAIL INFO. – This is a very nice portion of the Bartram Trail. The trail crosses the West Fork of the Chattooga River on a nice iron bridge and continues parallel to the Chattooga on mostly flat terrain with a side trail on the old Adeline Ford Rd.

Another great day for a hike! Sunny and cool with temperatures ranging from the low 50’s to the upper 60’s F.

WILDFLOWERS IN BLOOM: White Snakeroot, Indian Plantain, Asters, Goldenrod, Ladies Thumb.

BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Crow, Blue Jay, Junco, Chickadee, Cardinal, Nuthatch, Goldfinch, Pileated Woodpecker, White-throated Sparrow.
