Today’s hike was on the Bartram Trail in Rabun Co. GA from Warwoman Dell to Martin Creek Falls and back. HIKERS – Mike Bell, Jenny Bell, Joe Collins, Renee Corbett, Greta Driggers, Jim Driggers, Pam Euliss, Tim Hale, Jenna Hensley, Bob Magee, Dick Metzgar, Dave Norton, Mary Lu Norton, Tony Presley and Vic Robson. TRAIL INFORMATION – A beautiful section of the Bartram Trail featuring two very nice waterfalls. The trail is well maintained and has rolling terrain. Hike difficulty – moderate with several manageable inclines. Directions: Take Highway 884 East (Warwoman Road) from Clayton, GA for 5 miles or so and look for the Warwoman Dell sign on the right and turn right and park in the first parking area. Walk a short distance up the road and you will see the trail leading to the right. Follow the yellow trail markers. Another great day for a hike! Sunny and cool with temperatures ranging from 54 to 62 degrees F. Hiking distance – 4.3 miles. WILDFLOWERS IN BLOOM: Halberd-leaved Yellow Violet, Purple Violet, Trailing Arbutus, Pussy Toes, Rue Anemone, Round Leaf Yellow Violet. BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Pileated Woodpecker, White-breasted Nuthatch, Black Capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Wren.
