This week’s hike was on the trails of Victoria Bryant State Park near Royston, GA.

HIKERS: Mike Bell, Joe Collins, Angela Evans, Tim Hale, Bob Magee, Dick Metzgar, Bruce O’Connor, Jeanne O’Connor, Tony Presley and Vic Robson.

TRAIL INFO. – Victoria Bryant State Park has a very nice network of hiking trails. The Perimeter Trail Loop, The Broad River Loop, Victoria’s Path Nature Trail along with connector and access trails. All together around 10 miles to choose from. The trails are well maintained and feature rolling terrain and nice river and woodland views.

Distance hiked – 4.4 miles today – difficulty – Moderate

Directions: Victoria Bryant State Park is located between Lavonia and Royston on Highway 327. There is a $5 per car parking fee or a Georgia State Parks Pass.

Another great day for a hike! Sunshine. Temp: Upper 20’s to upper 30’s F.

BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Mallard Ducks and Hybrid Ducks, Pine Warbler, Blue Jay, Crows, Junco, White-breasted Nuthatch.
