Today’s hike was on the Bartram Trail in Rabun Co. GA from Warwoman Dell to Martin Creek Falls and back. HIKERS – Mike Bell, Jenny Bell, Ray Clark, Joe Collins, Greta Driggers, Angela Evans, Tim Hale, and Bob Magee, TRAIL INFORMATION – A beautiful section of the Bartram Trail featuring two very nice waterfalls. The trail is well maintained and has rolling terrain. Hike difficulty – moderate with several manageable inclines. Directions: Take Highway 884 East (Warwoman Road) from Clayton, GA for 5 miles or so and look for the Warwoman Dell sign on the right and turn right and park in the first parking area. Walk a short distance up the road and you will see the trail leading to the right. Follow the yellow trail markers. Another great day for a hike! Sunny and cool with temperatures ranging from 68 to 75 degrees F. Hiking distance – 4.2 miles. WILDFLOWERS IN BLOOM: Rosebay Rhododendron, Wild Hydrangea, Flowering Spurge, Wild Raspberry (fruit), Phlox, Black-eyed Susan, Chicken of the Woods (mushroom) BIRDS IDENTIFIED: Pileated Woodpecker, White-breasted Nuthatch, Black Capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Wren.
