TRAIL INFO. – This portion of the Chattooga River Trail is very nice with great views of the river and some nice mountain views along the way. Trail conditions were generally good with one major blowdown. Moderately difficult due to elevation changes.

Directions: Take Warwoman Road 5.9 miles from Clayton and turn right on Sandy Ford Road. Stay on Sandy Ford Rd., crossing a ford and continuing about a mile until you find the Boulder on the right side of the road engraved with “Chattooga River Trail – 10 mi. Highway 76”. This bolder is 4.7 miles from when you turn onto Sandy Ford Rd.  Do not confuse with a similar bolder for the Bartram Trail which is 0.5 mile prior to the bolder for the Chattooga River Trail.  Park here and hike southward toward Highway 76 using the bright green trail markers as a guide.

Another great day for a hike! Mostly high clouds and cool with temperatures ranging from 45 to 55 degrees F.
