Name: Brasstown Waterfalls Trail near Long Creek, SC
Distance: 1.2
Difficulty: Easy
Total Climbing Elevation: 141
Type: Out and Back
Notes: While a short hike, we were amazed by the beauty of the two falls we saw. Access and parking for this trail is excellent as is the condition and maintenance of the trail itself. There are viewing platforms for the two upper levels of Brasstown Falls with a slightly more difficult decent to the third level via some well constructed, but steep open stairs. Access to Little Brasstown Falls is equally easy, but there is nothing small about this fall . There were just a very few wildflowers and the fall colors were in selective display, mostly in areas with exposure to direct sunlight. Despite the lack of much rainfall over the past 6 weeks, we thought the water flowing over the falls was significant. However, a search of online photos of these two falls suggests the flow of water can be much more spectacular shortly after a decent rain. Gotta come back again and thanks for the recommendation Gerald!
