Notes: Another great day for a hike with sunny skies and warm mid-winter temperatures. This was a fairly easy hike with a generally dry, soft trail, no rocks and few roots. There was one steep incline on our return, but it was broken up by short declines or level sections. Much of the trail heading down to the river was on a fairly narrow path across a steep hillside. We did encounter one major blowdown across the trail requiring a tight squeeze over and around the root ball. We saw our first wildflowers of the year mostly along the river exposed to warming sunlight. The Chattahoochee River was a pleasant sight, but the sections we hiked past seemed to be a bit more peaceful with less rapids than expected.
