Date: 10/17/2023
Name: Devil's Courthouse Trail
Distance: 1.0
Difficulty: Easy
Total Climbing Elevation: 279
Type: Out and Back
Notes: This hike was off the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Southern Shining Rock Wilderness of Pisgah National Forest. Due to heavy fog earlier in the day, we completed this as a separate hike after the earlier, longer hike to Sam Knob and Black Balsam Knob. The trail is a steep incline initially along a paved path from the parking area then transitioning into a very rocky trail to the overlook . The 360 degree views from Devil's Courthouse were truly beautiful and worth the extra effort. A visit at any time of the year would be rewarding. Today's Hikers: Matt Henderson & Mike Bell
