Name: Duncan Ridge Trail - Wolfpen Gap South to AT
Distance: 5.3
Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
Total Climbing Elevation: 1,594
Type: Out & Back
Notes: A wet day for a hike on Sep. 7 due to a mid-morning rain, but a very nice day for hike on Sep. 9 with sunny skies and a cool, 60°F, breeze along much of the trail. The trail is overgrown in some sections with loose rocks and roots in other sections. This trail is difficult for the first 0.6 mile with a steep 700 foot climb, but much less steep for the rest of the hike. In the winter there would be some nice views of the valleys and Vogel State Park, but only brief and mostly obscured views this time of the year. There is a high canopy above the entire route. There were a few late season wildflowers with blooming White Snakeroot along most of the trail and obscuring the path in several sections.
