Notes: A perfect day for a hike with temps. between 48 & 60 degrees, and clear skies. We hike this trail counterclockwise. The first part is mostly climbing on a clear, dry, but rocky and rooty trail. The last part after the turnoff for Blood Mountain is mostly a gentle downhill over a mostly dry trail with much less rocks and roots. We found a few late summer wildflowers and plants showing their seeds.
