Name: Ladyslipper Trail
Distance: 8.1
Difficulty: Moderate
Total Climbing Elevation: 1432
Type: Loop
Notes: The trail is not well blazed, nor maintained. Without Ray Lovett's experience on this trail we would have had a difficult time keeping on the path as it follows a number of old logging roads and has multiple intersections which would get one off-trail. Having a GPS or past experience is essential to hike on this trail. The trail has multiple areas with fairly deep gullies one has to walk through due to inadequate drainage control. We hiked 8.4 miles, well more than the 6.2 miles shown on the trailhead sign since we parked at Nancy Town Lake and walked a figure-eight pattern using a path which crosses between the east and west legs of the loop. One could easily divide this hike into two hike's using that cross-trail. Not many wildflowers this time of year, but with the multiple days of rain preceding this hike there were quite a few mushrooms. Not a lot of views except a very nice cascade at the south end of the loop where one crosses the stream. You have to walk a bit off path to get a good view of this cascade, but worth the effort.
