Name: Northern Section of the Willis Horse Trail to Burrell Mtn.
Distance: 4.7
Difficulty: Moderate
Total Climbing Elevation: 928
Type: Out & Back
Notes: An easy hike today on a section of the Willis Horse Trail we have not hiked before. The trail is in pretty good condition considering it is a horse trail. There is some rutting in the middle of the trail, but it is passible. There is not a lot of scenery even though some of the hike was along a ridgeline with views of the adjacent mountains partially obstructed by the forest. There are no scenic overlooks, just a nice walk through a pine forest with trail bed of mostly leaves and pine straw. Not many exposed roots, but a few rocks. The weather was pleasant with temperatures between 40-65°F
