Notes: A really beautiful day for a hike with clear skies and temperatures between 55-75°F The trail is moderately difficult. It was in good condition and well used, but it is quite rocky and rooty in places. But hey, that's the AT. While the hike is uphill all the way to the peak of Standing Indian Mountain, the climb is not steep. In addition to the great views from Standing Indian Mountain, this hike was also quite notable for the large amount of Bluet, Trout Lily and Wood Anemone in bloom along the trail and also the numerous White Trillium along Deep Gap Road leading to the trailhead. The Deep Gap Road (FS71) is in excellent condition.
