Name: Stonewall Falls Mountain Bike Trail Loop (2 Wet Stream Crossings)
Distance: 5
Difficulty: Easy
Total Climbing Elevation: 587
Type: Loop
Notes: Just three of us today on a cloudy, but reasonably warm day with temperatures between 45 and 55 degrees and mostly cloudy skies. The trail was in generally good condition considering the recent 2-4 inch snowfall 3 days before. We had to remove some large branches in several locations left by the power company contractor cutting back vegetative growth near power lines. There are actually 4 water crossings on this trail, the first two are easily crossed on large stones in the water, but the last two, when travelling counter-clockwise, required wading through the stream with fairly fast-flowing, cold, knee-deep water. We decided to do so with our boots on since we wanted to have better footing versus crossing barefoot. in that we were only 1.5 miles from completing the hike, our wet feet and boots did not present any terrible problems. This all made for a nice adventure.
