Trail access Hwy. 180 near Wolfpen Gap and Vogel State Park. Sosebee Cove Trail is very short but is known for abundant wildflowers and large trees (Poplar and Buckeye). We then did a portion of the Coosa Backcountry Trail. Parking off of Hwy. 180 Another beautiful hiking day! Clear – temperature ranged from 56-70 degrees F.. Wildflowers viewed – Trillium (Catesbys) , Foam Flower, Golden Alexander,May-apple, Four-Leaf Milkweed,Woodland Bluets, Cow Wheat, Wood Sorrel, . Poison Ivy (abundant) – among others. Birds identified – Turkey, Pileated Woodpecker, Oven Bird, Nuthatch, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Vireo, Rose-breasted Grosbeak. |

 You will see this huge Buckeye tree a short distance into the hike. |
 Flame Azaleas were in full bloom. |
 There are several small creeks and waterfalls. |
 The Coosa Backcountry Trail is actually a 12.7 mile loop. We hiked out a portion of the trail and had lunch. |
