Name: Willis Knob Horse Trail Chattooga River
Distance: 6.5
Difficulty: Easy
Total Climbing Elevation: 751
Type: Out & Back
Notes: A nice section of the Willis Knob Horse Trail with some views of the Chattooga River. Temperatures were between 55-70 degrees with some overall clouds. This section of the trail is easily accessible where it crosses Willis Knob Road. It also crosses the Bartram Trail at 0.7 mile. It is in fair condition with more actual use for horse riding than the NW section of this trail. Several wet areas of the trail are encountered near the Chattooga River, but all are passable. The trails is rutted out in many sections from rains and riding, but not all that terrible. A rolling hike with one moderate elevation to climb on the return walk. A variety of wildflowers are encountered along the way.
