Name: Yonah Mountain Trail near Cleveland, GA
Distance: 4.8
Difficulty: Difficult
Total Climbing Elevation: 1,496
Type: Out & back with loop
Notes: It was great hiking day with mild temperatures, sunny skies and a light breeze on top of Yonah Mountain. The trail was dry and in good condition although a bit slippery on the way down due to the dry and loose fine dirt. While a steep climb for the first half of the hike, it did not seem as difficult as expected. Being a bit late in spring, there were not a lot of wildflowers, but we were still treated most notably to some Fire pinks and Jack-in-the-pulpits along the way. As reported by other hikers, there was lots of poison ivy, but not a real problem given the fairly wide trail. Overall it was a hike with views worth the extra effort.
